Meeting on Veterans in Farming at La Paix

More information on Meeting at La Paix July 24th
Press Release: For Release July 15, 2014
There will be a meeting at La Paix on Thursday, July 24th, 2014 at 2 p.m. and Veterans interested in farming are invited. It is a preliminary planning meeting on a very large project. James McCormick; Warrior and Veterans Project Director of Vets in Agriculture (WV Dept. of Agriculture, Walt Helmick, Commissioner) is working with me to develop a project involving veterans in the state of WV who are interested in farming. This is a large project and we need people to help us develop the goals, strategies, leaders and contacts. I believe that La Paix is an ideal place to help veterans, particularly those with PTSD (post traumatic stress diagnosis). James McCormick sought me out because, he too, believes veterans may be healed by alternative therapies such as aromatherapy and by working at well paying jobs with a future. As it involves agriculture and honoring the land as it was given to us. Those attending include James McCormick, Rebecca Flannigan and Jeremy Bennett of the USDA (Lewis County), Eve Von Deck, West Virginia Herb Association, Molly McCartney, MSW, William Nicoll Hale III, Veterans Beth Anne Early and Eric Grandon and Myra Bonhage-Hale, Steward of La Paix Herb Farm.
If you are interested in this project, please contact me at lapaix@frontier.com or (304) 269-7681.
